Screen whether a role and product may meet Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 from 20 January 2027. Chapter VI has applied since 19 July 2023.

How the date works

Directive 2006/42/EC is repealed from 20 January 2027. Products placed in conformity with that Directive before then may remain available under Article 52, while Chapter VI has applied since 19 July 2023. Articles 26 to 42 apply from 20 January 2024.

No. The main application date is 20 January 2027. Notified-body articles started on 20 January 2024, and market-surveillance rules for earlier Directive products started on 19 July 2023.

What stays separate?

Cyber, data-access and battery-passport tests stay separate. Software context only adds a link.
